For our last sewing project in class, we got to pick out our own pattern! Yeehaw! I got this pattern from DI, because all the ones at Joann's were either a) easy, but so very plain or b) cute, but too hard for me. Plus, they were all like $16. This one only cost me 75 cents! I was SO excited to get started that I did a really stupid, hasty thing and didn't cut out the right length. I was going to make the version without the ruffle at the bottom to minimize the seventies-ish look, but I cut it too short and had to add the ruffle in the end. So now I'm just embracing my inner seventies diva and wearing it proudly. I think I'll make another one the same length but with no ruffle in a dark navy blue? With the same little gold buttons? Maybe. I'm so glad I got to take this sewing class, but I'm also so glad that it's over!
I LOVE it! I've never thought to buy a pattern at DI. I am going to have to check it out! =)
