We got our new fishies for FHE on Monday. We haven't named them yet - we just can't commit to any names. Jack wants Tendril, Conan, and Shannon, but I'm not allowing that.
The fishes and I were alone today while Jack was at work, school, inner tuber water polo, and church basketball. I stayed home, wrote paper after paper, tended to the office, and tried to get the fish to eat. They were just too dumb to realize where the food was. Then I figured out how to take family pictures together. The little dweebs were hardly cooperative, but for phone pics shot through a fishbowl they turned out pretty cool.
And I made this shirt all by myself in sewing class! I only got an 87 on it, but what the heck. Jack says I look like a waitress and tried to order pancakes from me today, ha. I was going to save this fabric for a skirt, which I think it is better suited for, but money and stuff, ya know? I was just trying to use up what I had instead of buying new. It looks pink in the picture, but it's actually red and white threads woven together. We used kind of a frumpy pattern, but I made it longer and slimmer so it wasn't so boxy. It's growing on me. And it was good to learn!
I'm impressed by your mad sewing skills! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteLove the shirt! Brings back so many memories. Yours turned out a lot better than mine. I also love the sewing machine you got. How lucky are you!
ReplyDeleteAn 87??? Is your teacher nuts???!!!
ReplyDeleteThose buttons are perfect.
I love it! I'd wear that with pride.
ReplyDeletei am inspired to go and get a pet!
ReplyDeleteI disapprove of those names too. I actually considered Conan for Emmett (don't laugh), and Shannon...Jack could lose some serious son-in-law points for that.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute shirt! I can't believe how much we have in common sometimes. I too took a sewing class at BYU and made a very similar shirt. Collars are the worst thing to sew! You did a great job!
Well, I'd take offense about the fish but it's obvious that none of the fish resemble me, since I have never had any problem identifying and eating any food put in front of me. Sorry Jack - your heretofor good judgement failed you this time!
