Portland

When we were visiting Nick and Miriam, we got to spend one day exploring Portland. It's such a clean, friendly, adorable city! Subarus, beards, and trendy food trucks eeeerrrrrywhere. No one honks, people talk to each other, and pedestrians are not in danger. More details below.

Our itinerary for the day was very relaxed. I usually over-plan our trips and suck the fun out of everything. This day I made a point not to look everything up ahead of time. No fun sucking! We ended up eating lunch at a farmer's market downtown - some delicious and healthy Mexican from a place called Verde Cocina for Jack and I, and a pint of the best strawberries in the world for the girls. They were like candy. Molly's a vegetarian right now. Well, you couldn't really say that since a vegetable has not touched her lips in months. Whatever you call only eating peanut butter sandwiches, cereal, scrambled eggs, and berries. That's what she is. I guess she's just a toddler ;)

After lunch we ended up at Washington Park, which seemed to have many adventures to offer, but we just went to the playground. Our last stop was across the river to an ice cream shop in a trendy little area straight out of the TV show Portlandia. It almost seemed like this neighborhood was trying to make fun of itself. It was adorable and I loved it. We then attempted to drive to the border of Washington just to say we did, since I've never been there, but traffic dampened our spontaneous spirits and we headed back to Canby.

We thought three in a swing was going to be a lot more fun than it turned out to be, ha!
