Excitement
We have three very exciting events coming up in the next two weeks. I am paralyzed with excitement. I am very lazy when I have things to look forward to because I can sit around thinking about them instead of say, mopping the floor. Mopping the floor is strictly for stressful times when I need to distract myself. For now I will wallow in bliss. The three things are:
1. This is the least exciting thing, but I spend the most time thinking about this one. On February 24 a Cafe Rio is opening up 30 minutes away. We are going to the opening night and have vouchers for free meals! Every day I change my mind about what I will order - pork salad or pork burrito? I can never decide which is better.
2. In five days we are moving out of the building I have been managing, AKA a portal to hell, and into a two bedroom house. I am quitting my job and we will be house sitting this cute little house just until May, when we will look for a new situation. For three blessed months we will have a backyard, driveway, washer and dryer, no neighbors above us, and an orange tree outside the back door! The joy I feel about this development cannot be expressed in words. It is a miracle straight from heaven. A reluctant note: I am very grateful for the year I have spent working as an apartment manager. That is all I have to say about that.
3. A week from Friday we will find out the gender of our second baby! We're having a baby at the end of July! Hooray! And what are we doing with another baby so soon? Molly will not yet be two years old upon its arrival! Well let me tell you, it was not our idea. But it only took about twenty minutes after discovering the impending arrival of the babe for me to be 100% all in favor of this idea. I'm not quite sure what my life will be like with two under two, but other women have dealt with crazier situations and made it out alive. My first child has been a joy and delight, and adding another one might by the only way to possibly make my life even more delightful and joyful. My doctor gave me a good scare at my last ultrasound and proclaimed that there were two babies in my womb! After 10 minutes of very intense mixed feelings, we discovered that this was untrue. Phew! We are looking forward to meeting our one new baby in July.
Totally unrelated, but our nice friends took us to the zoo today and Molly loved it way more than I expected and it was too cute. There was a baby orangutan who was just her height and they stood face to face at the glass. Her mind was blown. She felt a deep connection with the orangutans, gorillas, and chimpanzees. She was slightly amused by the koalas and completely indifferent to the meerkats.

ReplyDeleteNo, but seriously, YAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! It's rough at times having 2 kiddos so close, but everyone tells me it only takes about a year for it to pay off big because they entertain each other.
baby!!!! how exciting!!! yay for babies!!!! <3
ReplyDeleteYou have some great things coming your way!! Congrats on baby #2! Can't wait to hear what your having!!
ReplyDeleteA portal to hell indeed. Think of all you have learned about the human condition from this experience. So glad that you are moving on.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the house and the baby, but especially the baby! So exciting! I did 2 under 2 (only for a month...) and there are definitely worse things. Molly will be an awesome big sister and they will be fast friends. I only have 2 more words for you...pork salad.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on baby #2! Our 2nd (who is 6 months old now!) was a lovely surprise as well. James was only 17 months when Theo came. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be... but there still are some hard times. My hardest thing was trying to figure out how to transport them both by myself to and from the car, but a double stroller solved that problem for me. How exciting for you! I know you will be just fine!!!
