the biggest adventure
whenever jack and i have nothing to do, i always beg him to go on an adventure. so far our adventures have consisted of driving around to find a "new place" to explore and eventually just driving home, walking by the lake, or going to wal-mart. not so adventurous. but lastnight we had a real adventure! on our way home from the waterslides our car decided that it had had enough driving for the day. so there we were on the freeway, one mile from an exit in either direction, no phones, and in our swimsuits. (jack had a shirt but i just had my towel to cover me up.) a nice lady stopped and let us use her phone but we couldn't remember very many numbers and the ones we could remember didn't pick up. i was relieved, because i didn't want our adventure to be over that quickly anyway. so we thanked her and looked toward our next obstacle: the chain link fence running along the freeway. it was the only thing dividing us from a long walk to matt and ness's house. with a little skill and a lot of luck, we made it over that sharp pokey fence with just a few scratches. the fact that i was in my swimsuit showing my bare legs to a large freeway audience was a lot more hurtful to me than the scratches on my legs anyway. as livvy would say, "orem, welcome to my bare legs." the walk to matt and ness's house was actually very pleasant. the sun was setting and we got to walk past orchards and cute houses and pretty little yards. and who better to accompany me on this adventure than jack? once we got to matt and ness's house the boys went off in matt's car to rescue the poor little jetta and i got to stay with ness. we ended up having the car towed to the shop (we thought all it would need was a little jump to get it started but that was not the case) and matt drove us home. we are so grateful to have such a helpful bro-in-law and happy that we finally got an adventure. now we're just hoping the car will be easy and cheap to fix.
