March Madness

With all the hullabaloo surrounding BYU's basketball team this year, I've been seeing the word "seed" everywhere. Seed this, seed that, co-workers talking about seed something-or-other, seed in the newspaper, etc. And I'm just like, what is all this seed nonsense? And what are we even planting here? So I asked Jack. And he explained the basic concept of a seed, that a team can be "seeded", and I realized...seeded? I've heard of seeded! But I thought it was SEATED! Doesn't that make more sense? To be seated #3 instead of seeded #3? Like, you have the third seat? I mean really, what do seeds have to do with this? (I hadn't heard of March Madness until I came to college either...it seems I'm just very oblivious?)

Anyways, we have been having some of our own March Madness around here: 

Madness #1

I beat Jack at speed scrabble! If you know Jack, you know that he wins at all games that require one to spell, touch, grab, talk, point, yell, or do anything speedily. I prefer games like checkers, where I can sit and simmer in my own cleverness and maybe pause for a snack break.  Time constraints are not my thing. So it is total madness that I beat him! It will never happen again.

Madness #2

The beautiful Olivia turned 19! I keep reminding her that when I was 19, I got married, so she had better prepare herself to be a fabulous wife this year. And then I think, what? Livvy married? Madness! And then I realize how the world must have felt about me getting married at 19. But guess what, world? It has worked out beautifully and I picked a really good husband. But Livs, I'm kind of in the mood for a good summer wedding!

Madness #3

Maddie turns 16 tomorrow! The mad thing about this is...isn't she already 16? It seems like she reached my sixteen-year-old level of responsibility/maturity/ability-to-be-a-real-person about three or four years ago. Perhaps her skills in these areas exceed my own, even at this very moment? Teach me your ways, oh great Madsy.

P.P.S. I know, my blog is full of words and totally lacking in pictures, but guess who lost their camera battery charger? Me. I mean, I guess it could have been Jack, but he doesn't usually lose things. However, April will be a most exciting month in our life so we will have plenty of pictures then!
