An extraordinarily good Monday

I got to run some errands in Toluca Lake today. I love Toluca Lake! Someday I'm going to live in Toluca Lake. On one little stretch of road, there is a post office, a Chipotle, a thrift store, a Trader Joe's, a Wells Fargo, and just the right amount of interesting little shops and restaurants sprinkled through. What more could you want within walking distance of your house?

The little girl I take care of was in the worst of the worst moods when I picked her up from school. But by dinner time she was laughing on the ground with tears in her eyes in reaction to my Rafiki impression. (Asante sana, squash banana.) It's SO HARD to get her out of her serious, stressed out mode. Sometimes it's just tough to be six! So that is what I call a successful day on the job.

And then, to top it off, her momma came home and gave me a late birthday present in the form of an adorable card made by the little girl and some cash monies! She is the sweetest lady. So Jack and I took that money directly to the Porto's, which we've been dying to try, and had ourselves a dinner date! And then we promised to use the rest of it to pay those pesky bills.
