Last weekend John and Marilyn were in town for a quick 24 hours to attend a Taggart family get-together. John and his three sisters and some cousins from each family were there. It was up at a Bear Lake campsite. It was so beautiful! Even though we were just there for the day, it still kind of felt like a camping trip. We spent Thursday night at great aunt Norma's, and all day Friday at the campsite with the family.
The three beautiful sisters: Nancy, Norma, and Marilyn (the aunt, not the mom). And Mugsy too.
We did the only natural thing to do at a family reunion in the woods: paint rocks! But really, don't you feel like you always paint rocks when you're at a gathering that involves nature and/or extended family? We all do it! Anyways, I really love painting rocks.
We were all pretty proud of our rocks until we saw Marilyn's (the mom, not the aunt). I mean, really. Way to show us up. (I hope my children inherit her talent!!!)
And Tom's camouflage rock was pretty amazing as well. I'm going to have to practice a lot in case I ever paint rocks in the woods with these people again.
As usual, I wish I would have taken more pictures. Not a single picture of John and Marilyn or the cousins, and none of the delicious Dutch oven dinner we had! Que triste!
I never got to finish my rock, and now I don't even know where it is. Oh, the agony! And I think I took a total of one picture, so you're definitely doin' better than me.
ReplyDeleteThose folks have some definite rock painting skills. Watch out.
