Jack and Jo vs. LA

We spent the weekend in LA trying to find an apartment. We're moving there as soon as summer term ends and boy are we nervous/excited/scared/happy! I'm obsessed with finding apartments and I had been researching apartments online for two straight months all day everyday...so this post will be boring to most people but really really exciting for me since I think I am the most valiant apartment searching hero in the whole wide world. This weekend was full of long, sweaty hours in the car, multiple appointments where nobody even showed up, some cockroaches, and millions and millions of phone calls. But, with the help of our good friends and family, we made it out alive and with a steal of a deal apartment!

It has everything we could ever want (DISHWASHER! REAL A/C!) and it's clean and bright and beautiful. And it was only $100 more a month than the super ghetto ones we saw! And it's in a really nice, safe part of town. Plus, a friend of Jack's from the film program and his cute wife live one street over (they helped us find this great apartment and we owe them our lives), and I hope we become best friends. Plus I looked up which celebrities live in Studio City, and George Clooney lives ten minutes away, so.....this apartment is just an all around winner.

But the best part of the weekend is all the friends and family we got to see! We are lucky to know such kind people. On Friday and Saturday night we stayed with our good friends Josh and Tiersha. We got to go to Cafe Rio and Downtown Disney with them, and boy do I love me some Downtown Disney! It was so good to see them - and to meet Tiersha's family. Those people are just plain good. On Saturday night we got to stay with my Uncle Kimball and Aunt Betty. I just love them! We had a great old time. I'm so glad we're going to live so close to them.

So our next challenge is finding a way to pay the rent. Pray for us!
